This roundtable will discuss the interpreter's identity, the cultural competence needed for the most efficient interpreting service in a multicultural team in TN. It takes a special individual to become an interpreter, not just the bilingual proficiency but more importantly the ability to manage, negotiate, bridge and complete a cross cultural communication circle of interaction between the LEP and the provider. What are specific "blind spots" interpreters need to be aware of or any intercultural insight to raise the interpreter quality of service?
